Grand Western Virtual Air Lines

gw_final_copy.jpg

Welcome to Grand Western Virtual!

On this section we'll explain the benefits of our flight organization and highlight the exciting features and details that our VA has to offer. Our goal is to have an airline unlike any other with the most nonstop flights in the west.

Attention All GWVA Pilots! Some of you have been with us for almost 2 months, and you have yet to log any flight hours. If you have any questions on how to get started or about filling out your PIREPS you need to email us ASAP. You can click on this link to Contact Us. Thank you!

We are different from any other virtual airline. Though we serve only a portion of the United States, we have more destinations than many other airlines because we fly to more small cities than most airlines do. Ontario, Oregon; Alturas, California; and Hawthorne, Nevada. You wouldn't find any of these destinations on the route maps of most other VAs. But these are all cities that Grand Western serve, albeit with appropriately sized aircraft. But don't get the wrong idea we also offer plenty of flights with full sized jets. These include the numerous flights between northern and southern California as well as direct routes between all the major cities in the west. Our largest hub and headquarters is in Los Angeles, CA (LAX), but we also have hubs in San Francisco (SFO), Phoenix (PHX) and Portland (PDX), not to mention other cities for pilots to be based such as Boise (BOI), Salt Lake City (SLC), and Seattle (SEA). If you are a virtual pilot and want to fly in the Western United States, then the choice is clear: Grand Western Virtual is the premier western virtual airline.

Pilots must do all their flights on the VATSIM flight network. Pilots must also fly at least 5 hours a month to be considered active.

Here are some links that are helpful when flying with VATSIM. The first allows you to easily find the preferred route for many flights. The second is a link to a database of US Terminal Procedures, including Departures and Arrivals.
